INMP Coordinators Bulletin
March 20 2023 • Issue #23.01
After celebrating INMP’s 30th anniversary in Tehran Peace Museum at the end of 2022, we start this new important year, 2023. A year in which we will have again (as we do every three years) the opportunity to meet at The 11th International Conference in Uppsala (Sweden) with an extension to Oslo (Norway). For this reason, we thank you for your continued membership and for being an ambassador for peace where you live and work.
The INMP’s Executive board and members of the advisory and senior boards, met on March 3, 2023. The board approved the 2022 activities dossier including the financial report and the INMP’s 2023 activity plans and budget.
The reports from three special study groups were presented at the Executive and Leadership Meeting:
Lucy Colback reported on the Nominations and Elections study group. The group is chaired by Clive Barrett, and other members include Lucy, Erik Somers and Lonnie Franks. The consensus was to support the study group’s proposed process for conducting the 2023 elections in light of the suggestions expressed in the meeting.
Lucy also gave a report from the Website Redesign Study Group. The group is chaired by Lucy Colback, and the other members are Mari Kumura, Iratxe Momoitio, Roy Tamashiro and Kevin Kelly. The study group will outline a tasks-list for reviewing and revising the website, and for on-going sustainability and updating of the site. The study group will invite and recruit volunteers amongst INMP officers and members to work on these tasks.
Lonnie Franks gave a report from the Finances and Funding Study Group. His “INMP Financial Management Report” following interviews with INMP officers and research into banks (especially in Canada) is available HERE. The consensus was to accept the preliminary recommendations, and move toward implementation.
There was a call to extend the Call for Proposals deadline for the 11th International Conference of Museums for Peace beyond March 15, 2023. (After the meeting, the Conference Organizers extended the Call for Proposals deadline to March 31 2023.
