1. JOIN THE INMP GENERAL MEETING:
August 15, 2023 -- 16:30 - 18:30 (CEST) IN-PERSON OR ONLINE
The International Network of Museums for Peace (INMP) holds its General Meeting every three (3) years at its International Conference of Museums for Peace. The meeting will introduce the INMP mission and objectives and outline how you can benefit from the Network, and help to grow the community by nominating yourself to one of the boards or the INMP's committees/ workgroups/ team. 2. INMP ELECTION MESSAGE TO INMP MEMBERS
Dear INMP Member,
This year marks the end of the three-year tenure for the existing Executive and Advisory Boards, with elections for new Board members to be held in November. We will also host the 11th International Conference of Museums for Peace in Uppsala, Sweden, from 14-16th August, at which the General Meeting will invite members old and new to stand for election, ask questions about what it means to be on the Executive Board or Advisory Committee and introduce yourself to other members.
We would like to invite all INMP members, whether you are able to attend the conference or not, to consider standing for one of the elected offices. Expertise in areas from finance through fundraising to communications is welcome, especially on the Executive Board, but it is not an essential aspect of your eligibility. We need enthusiastic proponents of museums for peace who are willing to commit their time and energy to helping the network grow an engaged community. Please consider nominating yourself.
Nominations are open online from August 7 to September 17 at https://elections2023.inmp.net/
Elections will take place online from October 23-30. Successful candidates will be expected to take part in a handover period in November/December before their 3-year term of office begins in January 2024.
We will also open opportunities to serve at a committee/workgroup/team level without requiring election to a Board. We welcome any individuals with motivation to serve in communications, website management, publications, membership organisation, fund raising and finance, for instance.

For experienced and active members of INMP:
Have you been a fully paid-up member for over a year? Are you already an active INMP member? Perhaps you have been a member of the Advisory Committee, or involved with INMP in another way. Do you have skills or experience that could be used in the running and governance of INMP? We would be particularly delighted to welcome additional expertise in finance, fundraising, administration or communications, especially in digital and social media. Even if you are simply an enthusiastic team player eager to promote INMP and its mission for peace, we invite you to consider nominating yourself for the INMP Executive Board and to share responsibility for the future of INMP.
The official role of the Executive Board is [Statute 5(1)]
(1) Executive Board
No more than ten Executive Board members are elected from among the candidates nominated by themselves or others… The Executive Board should reflect as much as possible the diversity of the membership.
The Executive Board is responsible for:
a. Implementing the decisions of the General Meeting.
b. General administration of the network including accounting, web page administration, publication and distribution of a newsletter.
For any paid-up member of INMP, even if you have not been a member for long:
Would you like to become active in INMP, using your gifts, knowledge and creativity for the benefit of museums for peace? If so, nominate yourself for the INMP Advisory Committee. The Coordinators of INMP will look to you to support the Executive Board's mission to expand and invigorate the INMP network. Whatever your experience - for example in museums, education, arts, publishing - you could have an active role to play in INMP through participation in the Advisory Committee.

(2) Advisory Committee
No more than twelve Advisory Committee members are elected from among the members or persons willing to become members. The General Coordinator and the Executive Board consult, as necessary, with the Advisory Committee on issues pertaining to the Network. The Advisory Committee may provide input to the General Coordinator and Executive Board on issues that are relevant to the functioning of the Network.

2. INMP会員への選挙に関するメッセージ
INMP会員各位
本年は現執行委員会および諮問委員会の3年間の任期が終了し、11月に新理事選挙が行われます。また、8月14日～16日にはスウェーデンのウプサラで第11回国際平和ミュージアム会議が開催され、総会では新旧会員に選挙に立候補していただき、執行委員会や諮問委員会のメンバーであることの意味について質問をしたり、他の会員に自己紹介をしていただく予定です。
INMP会員の皆様には、大会に出席できるか否かにかかわらず、いずれかの委員会への立候補をご検討いただきたいと思います。特に執行委員会では、財務から資金調達、コミュニケーションに至る分野の専門知識をお持ちの方を歓迎いたしますが、これは立候補資格の必須条件ではありません。私たちが求めているのは、平和のためのミュージアムの熱意ある推進者であり、このネットワークが活動的なコミュニティへと成長するために時間とエネルギーを惜しまない方です。ぜひ自薦をご検討ください。
推薦は8月7日から9月17日まで、https://elections2023.inmp.net/ にてオンラインで受け付けています。
選挙は10月23日から30日までオンラインで行われます。
当選した候補者は、2024年1月から3年間の任期が始まる前の11月から12月にかけての引き継ぎ期間に参加することが期待されます。
また、理事会への選出を必要とせず、委員会／ワーキンググループ／チームレベルで奉仕する機会も設ける予定です。例えば、広報、ウェブサイト管理、出版、会員組織、資金調達、財務などの分野で奉仕する意欲のある方を歓迎します。

正会員になって1年以上経過していますか？すでにINMPの正会員ですか？諮問委員会のメンバーや、その他の形でINMPに関わったことがある方。INMPの運営やガバナンスに役立つスキルや経験をお持ちですか？特に財務、資金調達、管理、コミュニケーション、特にデジタルやソーシャルメディアに関する専門知識をお持ちの方は大歓迎です。INMPとその平和のための使命を推進する熱意あるチームプレーヤーの方でも、INMP理事会への推薦をご検討いただき、INMPの将来に対する責任を分かち合っていただきたいと思います。
執行委員会の正式な役割は以下の通りです[規約5(1)]。

(2) 諮問委員会
諮問委員会の委員は、会員または会員になる意思のある者の中から12名以内が選出される。ジェネラル・コーディネーターおよび執行委員会は、必要に応じて、ネットワークに関する問題について諮問委員会と協議する。諮問委員会は、ネットワークの機能に関連する問題について、ジェネラル・コーディネー ターおよび執行委員会に意見を提供することができる。
＊注意：理事になる場合、会議は英語で行われますので、英語でコミュニケーションができることが求められています。
